Spring Cleaning Hacks: Dumpster Rental Northeast Ohio

Spring Cleaning in Ohio

Had enough of the cold and snow? After the long northeast Ohio winters we endure, everyone is ready for spring to arrive. We're ready to get back out of the house and begin to enjoy the warmer weather, but then the spring rain starts and runs us back inside our homes. This is the time that the cabin fever really starts getting to us and the clutter we've accumulated over the years really starts to get on our nerves, because all we really want is to get outside where we have more room to move around. So while the rain is pushing us inside our homes, why not start cleaning up the homestead to keep our minds occupied and to do ourselves some real good for once. Decluttering is so good for a person's mental health, and in the process of helping one's mindset, stress levels and mental health overall, you get to gain more room in your home! Sounds like a pretty good accomplishment all around, doesn't it?!

Scheduling a dumpster rental can really help motivate you to get the spring cleaning project started and completed! And RaeBriar Dumpster Rental is here to help you get that dumpster scheduled, dropped off, picked back up and all the clutter taken away for you, to never be seen and to never be in your way ever again.

Some may think that they can just break up the pile of clutter into a few different piles and squeeze it in their weekly trash pick up. That's until they realize that it will take them months, yes months, to get rid of what they could have gotten rid of over one short little weekend. This becomes such a discouraging process that most people never complete the project. They end up piling more and more clutter on top of the clutter they never ended up getting rid of in the first place. The dumpster rental helps in more ways than one. It helps you get rid of that clutter fast. It keeps you motivated to complete that spring cleaning project and gives you a great peace of mind that you have actually accomplished that cleaning goal you have been putting off for a long time.

Here's some tips and ideas to get you started with Renting a Dumpster for Spring Cleaning

Supplies you may need:

  • Vacuum Cleaner
  • Carpet shampooer/steam cleaner
  • Broom and Dust Pan
  • Duster
  • Paper Towels
  • Cleaning Wet Wipes
  • Window Cleaner
  • Furniture Polish
  • Disinfectant Spray
  • Gloves
  • Trash Bags
  • Boxes
  • New Plastic Totes (for organizing)
  • Painter's Tape or Sticky Notes
  • Permanent Marker
  • Two wheel dolly
  • Four wheel furniture dolly
  • Furniture sliders

Bedroom Clean-outs:

  • Go through your closets and get rid of all those clothes you don't wear, especially the ones you have never even took the price tags off of. There are plenty of less fortunate people that could really use those clothes.
  • Pull all your clothes out so you can dust and thoroughly clean the shelves and floors in the closets, along with dusting the cobwebs off the ceilings and the walls (nobody wants cobwebs stuck to their clothes).
  • Remember to always start from the top and work your way down. So if you have ceiling fans, make sure to dust and clean those first, along with dusting the ceiling and ceiling corners first as well.
  • Don't forget to clean the windows!
  • Maybe it's time to flip those mattresses?
  • Dust and wipe down your mirrors, end stands and dressers.
  • Move the beds, dressers, end stands and whatever else that's in your way from getting a good thorough cleaning of the baseboards and floors.
  • You may even want to lightly wipe down the walls before starting on the trim and floors, especially if you have young children.
  • Vacuum and shampoo the carpets/rugs.

Bathroom Clean-outs:

  • Start at the top, dust the exhaust fan and ceiling corners.
  • Clean the top and the inside of the medicine cabinet and the shower/tub from top to bottom and put new shower curtains up.
  • Clean out the sediments in the toilet tanks that build up over time. Surprisingly enough those sediments can cause your toilet not to flush properly and/or not seal properly, leaking water into the bowl continuously over time, wasting water and money..
  • Thoroughly clean the rest of the toilet from top to bottom
  • Clean the countertops, the cabinet face/sides, the bathroom walls and don't forget to remove everything from the drawers and under the sink so that you can clean up the dust and gunk that builds up inside the cabinet over time.
  • End by cleaning the baseboards and flooring.

Kitchen Clean-out:

  • Once again start with the light fixtures, ceiling fans and dusting the ceiling and ceiling corners, then if your cabinets don't set tight to the ceiling make sure to clean the tops of them because they hold a lot of dirt and grime.
  • Then tackle the insides and outsides of one or two cabinets and drawers at a time, moving all the kitchen supplies (dishes, silverware, tupperware, pots and pans, cleaning products, etc.).
  • Don't forget the top of the refrigerator and the inside of it!
  • Move onto cleaning the windows, backsplash, countertops, sink, stove top and oven (inside and out).
  • Then clean the baseboards, toe kicks and floor, and maybe buy a new soft floor mat for in front of the sink.

Living and Family Room Clean-outs:

  • Definitely start with the ceiling and ceiling fan/fans.
  • Clean-out the fireplace if you have one at the very beginning because they can stir up a lot of dust!
  • Move everything off or around on the mantel and TV stand to get all that dust cleaned up.
  • Wipe down the TV and all the other stuff on the mantel and entertainment stand.
  • Clean the windows inside and out (if it's not raining).
  • Wash and/or change out the drapes or curtains.
  • Wipe down the end tables and coffee table.
  • Thoroughly clean the couches, love seats and/or chairs.
  • Vacuum and shampoo the carpet/rugs.

Dining Room Clean-outs:

  • Ceiling and light fixtures/fan once again and maybe the walls.
  • Wipe down the table and all the chairs, legs and all.
  • Clean out the dust from on top and the inside of the China cabinet if you have one.
  • Clean the windows, the baseboards and the flooring.

Garage and Shed Clean-outs:

  • We all know how much stuff collects in our garages and Sheds over time and it all becomes very dusty and dirty!
  • These may not be the areas one would really care to do such a thorough cleaning on but, admit it, it still needs to be cleaned up some and that's after you throw all the junk you really don't need anymore into that dumpster you just rented.
  • So, definitely start by decluttering these areas first, stir up the dust, and make some much needed room.
  • Then after you have decluttered, clean everything you're keeping by at least dusting and wiping down some.
  • Then clean the shelves before you start rearranging and consolidating the stuff you are going to keep.
  • Finish by mopping the garage floor and shop-vacuuming the shed floors.

Side note: If you have attics don't forget to do those first!..

This list of things can be overwhelming, but in the end it is all worth it. You will gain more space everywhere in your home and outbuildings. Everything will be cleaner making the air in your home cleaner and directly improving the physical health of you and your family. We would also like to add that we use wood blocking under the front and rear of all of our dumpsters to ensure full protection of our customers' property. Some other companies do the same but many do not, so be sure to look into that before you make your decision on which dumpster rental company you are going to use.

We have seen so many customers' properties scratched, gouged and even worse from companies that don't go the extra mile for their customers to make sure they are protecting their customers' property. It only takes a couple more minutes to put down blocking and RaeBriar takes that time, every time!
